What do our students say?
Hannes Reyemeggin09/01/2023I really had a great time at Lacunza. My Spanish was really really basic, when I arrived. But I could really feel progress within my 2 weeks intensive classes. Since I am continuing with their online classes. But I will come back to Donosti next summer to make the next step. Hopefully from A2 to B1 :)Brigitte Barjon13/11/2022Une école très sérieuse, avec des profs motivés et motivants. la meilleure façon d'allier vacances et progression dans la maîtrise de la langue.Marijke van de staak11/11/2022Creative teachers, learned a lot in 2 weeks! Nice people, flexible last minute organization. Thank you a lot Lacunza!Janey W.01/10/2022I chose this school because it said they had 17 classrooms. I was at a language school once which was so small, multiple levels sat together in the same classroom (which was frustrating at times and had to be impossible for the teacher). So I wanted a school large enough to accommodate all levels in separate classrooms. The seating area, both inside and outdoors, with coffee vending machine was useful too if you didn't want to go out during break. It's just across the river from the main town but an easy walk. Personally I liked the location. The school is very professionally run and the quality of the teachers great. Rosa is a superb teacher!! I did the senior course (I'm 58) which was classes 9:30-11 and 11:30-1 with additional 90 minutes in the afternoon. Tuesday we went to the museum. One day we ate out as it was a class member's birthday. 3 days we stayed in classroom. There were 5 of us who opted for the extra senior group. I had Lacunza arrange accommodation and I chose a shared apartment. I also requested a private bathroom and preferably, someone of similar age. I ended up staying in the apartment of a mother and daughter who was similar in age to me. A 15 minute walk to school through a nice park. My own bathroom, and use of the kitchen. It was perfect. The average age when I was there in September seemed to be around 30 but there was a pleasant mix of all ages and nationalities. I was not the youngest by far. The level of teaching is great. If you feel like you are in the wrong class level, change it. They seemed very accommodating to this. Optional activities that I did were the Monday night walk around the city, which was good for bearings. We made one poncho bar stop and then to a restaurant in a different part of town. I also did the paddle boarding and a Saturday hike. A lot of the younger people were talking about surfing too. Highly recommend Lacunza. And absolutely loved San Sebastian.lily x24/09/2022I did 3 weeks here in August-September 2022 and it was great- the teachers were really nice, the building was in a good location and well kitted out and the extracurriculars were cool- I particularly enjoyed the surfing.Gregg Blodgett19/09/2022I studied at Lacunza for 2 weeks the first half of September. This is my second time with the school. My instruction included an hourly daily of private lessons. Im at the C level. The teachers were wonderful and well organized, the classes interesting and there are plenty of social activities planned. I highly recommend Lacunzarobin schultz11/09/2022Very nice and committed teachers. The classes generally had a good structure and took into account the needs and interests of the students. I learned a lot and I can recommend the school without a doubt.Veronica Montero30/08/2022My 15 year old daughter spent a month at Lacunza and enjoyed every aspect of it. The teachers were great, class sizes and levels were appropriate, the activities were different each week and allowed her to try out new things and get to know the area. It was an unforgettable experience for my daughter.Aine Sharpe16/08/2022I had a fantastic experience at Lacunza and learned so much!Load more
